Well, it seems the matchmaking consultation worked pretty well for Mr. Suave here.
The Washington Post's Going Out Gurus are hosting their monthly happy hour tonight from 6-8 p.m. on the rooftop of BLT Steak (1625 I St. N.W.). Drink specials include $4 Dos Equis bottles, $5 Bud and Bud Light bottles and $6 Absolut and Absolut Peach cocktails. The rooftop bar only accepts cash, so make sure to hit up an ATM on your way.
Attendees will be entered in a contest to win prizes such as a $100 gift certificate to BLT Steak, another gift certificate to CommonWealth and a two-night stay at the Bellmoor Inn in Rehoboth. Everyone will also have the chance to talk with the editors of Date Lab and have a mini consultation with a matchmaker pro. (Funny, why does "matchmaker pro" sound like an Apple program?)
And while you mix and mingle at the dating-centric soirée, don’t forget to grab a few bites of peppered beef filet, mini grilled cheeses and BLT's signature popovers off of the roaming hors d'oeuvres trays. After all, drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea, especially when you're trying to score some digits. And in that case, try to keep your drunk texting to a minimum. Those suave lines just aren’t as convincing when they're misspelled.
