Party on H Street

D.C.'s most recent instant-scene -- the H Street NE corridor -- is hosting its fast-growing annual party again today.

Check out all the neighborhood has to offer. Various vendors are selling their goods and restaurants are keeping thousands fed.

Live music attracts much of H Street's visitors year round, so naturally a host of artists are performing, but what makes H Street so unique among D.C. festivals is the diversity of entertainment it offers. In addition to the music and vendors, you'll find an artist showcase, storytelling, parades, fashion shows, a boxing ring, urban sports and dancing. Fancy yourself a chess master? There is a speed chess challenge. There's also a tattoo competition at 4:15 p.m.

It's a family friendly event, too. Plenty of stuff for your kids to do.

Organizers expect about 20,000 people over the course of the day, and they've made it easy to get to with free shuttle bus service from Gallery Place and Eastern Market and free bike valet.

The festival ends at 6 p.m.
