Nation's Capital Going Tabloid?

National Enquirer

Washington is not known as a tabloid town, but that could change with a big splash from the National Enquirer.

The supermarket tabloid is feeling giddy after breaking news of the John Edwards affair, and now FishBowl D.C. hints that the publication may open a D.C. bureau.

There's definitely no shortage of political scandals in Washington to report on, and they wouldn't even have to be made up!

While a lot of people are still skeptical about the pub, the Enquirer is picking up some cred. It was recently accepted into the Pulitzer Prize competition for its Edwards coverage.
