Inventors Compete on National Inventors Day

There was a contest held today to celebrate National Inventors Day.

A special contest for inventors was held today in the District. It was hosted by a leading “as seen on TV” company and held at the National Press Club.

A panel of three judges watched as inventors from all over the country presented the next “must have” product. Many described the contest as a combination of television shows “American Idol” and “The Apprentice,” since they only had five minutes to present their idea.

Inventors pitched everything today from a television tray you can use on your couch to a hot dog transformer. And they used every prop imaginable in hopes of becoming the next worldwide sensation.

The contest was even more exciting because it was held on National Inventors Day. A day declared a holiday by former President Ronald Reagan in 1983.
