H Street Festival Vs. HFStival

Do not adjust your calendars.

For the second year in a row, the H Street Festival and the HFStival have sought to entertain (and confuse), because they're happening on the same day.

Of course, there's one for which you'll need to buy tickets in advance, and one you can pretty much just show up for, on Saturday, Sept, 17.

The H Street Festival runs from noon to 7 p.m., featuring -- according to What The Hill -- four performance stages, an Ink + Ego tattoo competition, speed chess, Chinese dragon dancers, and a dog beach (now they're just showing off).

More than 20 neighborhood will have their patios open, but if you're not interested in sitting for long, there's always the fleet of food trucks. For complete details, go here.

Also on Sept. 17, the HFStival will bring 20+ bands to the Merriweather Post Pavilion (10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, Md.),  with The Avett Brothers headlining. Other acts include Flogging Molly, Dr. Dog, Clutch and Middle Distance Runner. Tix are $35-$50; you can get 'em here.
