A local tax firm is making it easier for low-income tax filers in Virginia to get their taxes in on time.
Deloitte is sponsoring a community tax assistance event on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tax professionals will be on hand to assist residents with filling out forms to minimize payments and maximize refunds. Deloitte said last year it helped families in northern Virginia get $5.5 million in federal refunds. They said families on average can get $4000 back through their tax filings.
The event will tax place at Falls Church SkillSource Center, at 6245 Leesburg Pike, Suite 315, in Falls Church.
