More than 100 police, firefighters and sheriff's department employees from Arlington and Montgomery counties took part in a hair-raising event Sunday.
“Be Brave and Shave” raises money for the cancer program at Children’s National Medical Center.
This is the second year they've participated.
While some people shaved their heads, others who are more attached to their locks made cash donations.
No word on how much money was raised Sunday.
Nationally, “Be Brave and Shave” has raised more than $1.3 million for charity.
