No need to scramble, flattening out that crumbled buck for an extra four quarters -- the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s got us covered.
The voting process for the Art of Video Games exhibit, originally slated to end April 7, has been extended until April 17 (federal government shutdown notwithstanding), giving gamers more time to round up support for their favorite video games.
The votes will determine which 80 video games out of a pool of 240 should go on exhibit. The choices range from well-known favorites like "Pac-Man" and "Super Mario World," to more obscure “hardcore gamer” titles like "Shinobi"" and Mass Effect 2."
The American Art Museum encourages voters to select games that you believe are “visually spectacular” or “boast innovative design”, though we won’t blame you for picking personal favorites or succumbing to nostalgia.
Avid voters, however, will have to wait for results, as the exhibit itself won't premiere untilMarch 16, 2012. At least that should give the government enough time to sort itself out and get the Smithsonians going again.
