Order the Venti size coffe, and then get ready to Crazy Glue your eyes open, because the AMC Best Picture Showcase returns this weekend.

If you've only seen one or two of the nominees for the Best Picture Academy Award, this is your chance to knock 'em all off your list and ensure that there's actually a point to watching the Oscars on TV this year.

(We could say the point is the host, or the presenters, but... that would just take more enthusiasm than we can muster right now.... Or... Wow! Billy Crystal! Again!) (...How was that?)

You can catch the movies in either two convenient blocks on adjacent Saturdays, Feb. 18 and 25, which will still allow you to attend to normal bodily needs, such as eating non-popcorn foods and sleeping in a real bed. Or take it to the extreme and attend the complete marathon -- all nine movies -- during a punishing 24-four film fest on Feb. 25, just in time for the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 26.

    See schedule below:

Saturday, Feb. 18 ($30 one-day pass for four films):
    War Horse
    Moneyball
    The Tree of Life
    The Descendants

Saturday, Feb. 18 ($40 one-day pass for five films):
    Hugo
    The Help
    Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
    The Artist
    Midnight in Paris

The two-day events are hosted at Hoffman Center 22 (Alexandria), Potomac 18 (Potomac Mills), Rio 18 (Gaithersburg) and Shirlington 7 (Arlington). The AMC Loew's in Georgetown is the only local theater hosting the full-day marathon. Order tickets here.
