A Public Display of Passion and Paint

Two D.C. artists join together in an exhibit of love

Straight Jackets, sharp knives, poison… not items you would generally correlate with the union of marriage.

Leave it to D.C. artists Dana Ellyn and Matt Sesow to keep it honest.

The couple is sharing their versions of wedding bliss in their "Till Death Do Us Part" art show at the Long View Gallery at 1234 9th St. NW.

Their art won’t be the only thing to be made public, though. Ellyn and Sesow are actually going to exchange nuptials during the opening night reception for the exhibit.

According to the gallery, the painting lovebirds met eight years ago while Ellyn was looking for a place to exhibit her art. Instead, she found Sesow and fell in love with more than just his artwork.

Their joint exhibit, which opens this Friday at 6:30 p.m., is now dedicated to the next step in their lives, marriage painted on canvas and in real life.

Anyone can attend Friday's celebration, but an RSVP is required (i.e. no wedding crashers!).  To RSVP, e-mail info@longviewgallery.com by Friday.  You can also find out more by checking out the Facebook invite.
