Red Light Source: Celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Source (located at 1835 14th Street NW) with DJ Neville C and midnight cabaret with go-go and performances from Washington Improv Theater and Special Agent Galactica from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. More information at http://www.sourcedc.org

The Oranges Band: For only eight bucks, check out these local indie rockers from Baltimore at The Red & The Black on 1212 H St. NE at 9 p.m.

21st Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon: It may be early, but it will be worth it! The walk starts at 9 a.m., and pre-walkathon events begin at 8:30 a.m. The walkathon raises money for the thousands of people in the D.C. area without homes. Registration opens at 7 a.m. the day of the event or you can register online at helpthehomelessdc.org. Here are the places to go that morning: Pre-registered check-in is on the Mall at 7th Street NW and Event Day Registration is between 12th and 14th Streets on the Department of Agriculture lawn, across Jefferson Drive from the National Mall.
