Actually, reverse that. Run first; hold later.

This picture is EXACTLY the reason we would NEVER run with a bull. No sir-ee.

McFadden's (2401 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.) is hosting two special parties this weekend, and for the first time all summer, the beginning of the tag lines don't read, "Calling all interns!"

Instead, this Saturday, July 11, McFadden's is having a Running With the Bull Party from 5 p.m.-midnight. Head out for $2 Bud and Bud Lights and Red Bull drink specials during the NASCAR Spring Cup Series at Chicago, featuring a Red Bull car with a McFadden's logo. And if the race gives you a need for speed, you can run with the McFadden's bull (??) around Washington Circle at 7 p.m. Sometimes, we just don't need to know.

Sunday, check out McFadden's Texas Hold'em No Limit Charity Poker Tournament from 3-8 p.m. You will need to register in advance;  buy-in is $50 (tax-deductible), unless you bring four friends with you, in which case registration is free. (You all have friends, right?)

Half of all buy-ins will go toward the prizes, while the remaining half goes to nonprofit group For Granted, which aims at improving the lives of people in underserved communities worldwide by providing educational supplies and supporting community projects.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top six finishers and will be divided according to a sliding scale of percentages of the total pot. McFadden's expects the prize breakdown to be something along the lines of $600, $400, $300, $175, $125 and $100, but it obviously depends on the number of entrants, which is exactly why all you card sharks should convince your poker-illiterate friends to register! After all, schemes seem to be all the rage these days.
