James Sheep, who played Penn State's mascot, was charged with driving under the influence last month and may miss the Rose Bowl.

The Nittany Lion may have to sit out the Rose Bowl!

James Sheep, a Penn State senior who plays the university's mascot, was pulled over for drunk driving on November 22, at about 3:16 a.m., authorities said Monday.

A State College police officer pulled him over just hours before the Michigan State game, because his vehicle was overloaded with passengers piled onto each other and blocking the driver's view.

Sheep was charged with DUI, and it’s unclear whether he'll be allowed to attend the Rose Bowl game.

  • JoPa Fan Tuesday, Dec 2 at 5:34 PM FLAG COMMENT If I am not mistaken, Joe Paterno suspended some of his players earlier this season for similar behavior. This kid is not a kid anymore. He is a senior in college, and he must face the consequences of his actions. DUI is not a minor infraction. He should NOT be given any preferential treatment. I know that Paterno would not give his players any preferential treatment.
