Liberty Beats George Mason in OT Long leads Patriots with 18 points

Seth Curry hit a jumper and sank two free throws in the last 41 seconds of overtime to help Liberty beat George Mason 69-66 on Monday night.

The Flames (5-1), who were outscored 37-29 in the second half after leading by eight at the break, scored the last seven points in overtime to seal the victory.

Curry finished with a game-high 22 points, and Anthony Smith and Kyle Ohman added 16 each for the Flames. Smith also had a team-high nine rebounds.

Cam Long led the Patriots (5-2) with 18 points, and John Vaughan added 14. Darryl Monroe grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Patriots lost the game despite outrebounding the Flames 41-32 and shooting at a 42.9 percent (27 of 63) mark in the game compared to 38.5 percent (25 of 65) for Liberty. Liberty hit 11 3-pointers and turned the ball over 11 times compared to 15 by George Mason.
