The Metropolitan Community Church of Washington is reaching out to the Latino community with a new Spanish-speaking outreach ministry.

The ministry kicks off its new efforts with a celebration of "Our Lady of Guadalupe," a traditionally Catholic celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.

The festivities will feature mariachi music, prayer services and refreshments.

The Metropolitan Community Church of Washington is partnering up with Dignity/Washington to welcome Spanish-speaking members of the faith-based community who are gay, lesbian, transgender or bisexual.

MCCDC is located at 474 Ridge St. NW.
