Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair Set for Tuesday

A Hiring Our Heroes job fair will be held Tuesday at the Washington Convention Center.

Jobseekers interested in careers in the cable and telecommunications industry are encouraged to attend. NBC Universal, Comcast and The Walt Disney Company are just a few of the employers who will be there.

The fair begins at 9:30 a.m. and will last until 1:30 in the afternoon.

Veterans, Guardsmen and Reservists interested in attending should register online. Walk-ins are welcomed, but veterans must provide proof of service.

The event will include on-site interviews and testing for jobs, as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions on resume writing, resume building, and interviewing techniques for job seekers.

Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative with the goal of helping veterans and military spouses find good jobs. Since launching in March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has helped more than 108,000 veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Currently, the organization is campaigning with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Chamber Foundation, and Capital One to get the business community to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
