NBC4 and Burke & Herbert Bank partnered Thursday to collect coats for the needy this holiday season.
News4's Veronica Johnson was in Alexandria, where residents dropped off donations for our Share the Warmth Coat Drive.
Major Lewis Reckline of the Salvation Army said the need continues to grow, and they've been seeing an increase in working people who continue to struggle. "It's very difficult for these young people sometimes," Reckline.
The coats will be cleaned by Bergmann's before being distributed in January. If you need help or want to drop off a donation, call your local Salvation Army.
