Executive Assistant

An Executive Assistant is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the President & General Manager of WRC and various departments in the Station.  Basic qualifications include:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office applications skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Temporary Finance Coordinator (through Yoh Managed Staffing)

A Finance Coordinator's responsibilities include:

  • Accounts Payable - Code invoices according to Business Unit, Cost Center and GL numbers & Resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts and payment schedules
  • Record monthly and quarterly journal entries for both revenue and expense
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variances for actual results vs. plan and prior year
  • Extract system queries and analyze data
  • Work with business unit owners to track required monthly accruals and develop forecasts and budget templates
  • Prepare Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
  • Administer miscellaneous billing and collections for the station

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.
  • Must be 18 years or greater
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays

NABET Maintenance Engineer

The NABET Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the WRC-TV operating facilities (including the control room, studios, maintenance shop, and equipment (including live trucks, transmitter, newsgathering, and production). Basic qualifications include:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a maintenance engineer in a broadcast environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of news operations, control systems, transmission, P2, server based workflows and microwave and satellite systems.

Manager of Information Technology & Digital Media

The Manager of IT & Digital Media will manage the day-to-day IT responsibilities. This is a hands-on role and the candidate will be required to perform operational functions. Basic qualifications include:

  • Minimum 5 years in digital systems (video servers, streaming, automation, systems, networking)
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, 2003/2008 Server, MS Office/Exchange required
  • Hands-on experience with server/workstation/laptop hardware configuration maintenance and repair (Dell, HP, Apple)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting end-users
  • Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting and analyzing IP networks
  • Minimum 5 years of experience networking experience with configuration, networking protocols, devices and routing, authentication TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP settings
  • Minimum 5 years in broadcast engineering & operations management
  • MCSE Certification and or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology

IT Support Specialist

An IT Support Specialist is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology relating to WRC. Basic qualifications include:

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience supporting mid to large-size technology infrastructure, end-users, and troubleshooting/analyzing IP networks
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, 2003/2008 Server, MS Office/Exchange
  • Minimum 3 years or experience in networking with configuration, networking protocols, devices and routing, authentication TCP/IP and DHCP settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Active Directory architecture, permissions and structure
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting multi-media platforms, Internet/Intranets, Macintosh hardware and OS, PC repair, and Norton Ghost Imaging
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with server/workstation/laptop hardware configuration maintenance and repair (Dell, HP, Apple)

Media Specialist (through Yoh Managed Staffing)

A Media Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the newsroom technology system workflow, including file-based Media Asset Management (MAM) and microwave and satellite transmission. Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 1 year working with broadcast media production process (media acquisition to playback for air)
  • Minimum 2 years working knowledge of basic computer desktop and networking fundamentals and use of MS Office suite, TCP/IP, and RDP services

Desired:

  • SD and HD broadcast signals as well as Dolby 5.1 audio
  • Strong knowledge of digital media file formats (H.264/MPEG-4, MPEG-2, AIFF, WAV, MXP_OP1a, JPEG, MOV, WAV, etc.)
  • Working knowledge and experience file management with Asset Management systems, Dalet Plus and Avid Interplay a plus
  • Experience with operating ENG/SNG, microwave and satellite receive equipment
  • Understanding of video encoding and software, sample bitrates, transcoding and various file attributes associated with audio and video file creation and NAS, VOD, and video servers; Thozet, Omneon, Netapp, and Isilon experience a plus

NABET Engineer (Daily Hire)

As a Daily Hire NABET Engineer, you will cover local news for NBC4 and participate in newsgathering and editorial process. Basic qualifications include:

  • Minimum 2 years of newsgathering experience
  • Minimum 2 years in combination of shooting live events. editing on nonlinear systems and operating ENG live/microwave truck

Desired:

  • Strong storytelling, editorial, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under extreme deadlines
  • Ability to simultaneously shoot, edit and operate an ENG truck
  • Satellite truck operation
  • Portable microwave gear experience
  • Knowledge and ability to operate communication tools and stay connected with the assignment constituencies (i.e. use of e-mail software, cell phone, messaging tools, etc.)
