Dianna Russini is an anchor and reporter for News4’s sports department.
Russini’s journalism career started at George Mason University where she covered the sidelines for the Patriots’ men’s and women’s basketball teams for Comcast SportsNet in Washington, D.C.
After graduation, Russini switched to the news side of the business, reporting for News12 Hudson Valley, then becoming the Eastern New York Bureau Chief for WNBC, NBC’s owned station in New York. While doing some sports reporting at WNBC, Russini realized she missed covering sports full time. She moved to Seattle to become a sports reporter, anchor and host for Comcast SportsNet Northwest.
After stops in the sports departments of News12 Long Island and WVIT, NBC’s owned station in Connecticut, Russini moved back to the Washington area to join News4. In her role, she reports on local athletes and games around the Washington area for News4 newscasts, contributes to Redskins Final and hosts pregame and postgame Washington Redskins shows.
Russini’s interest in sports came from her father, who played in the Little League World Series. In high school, she played four sports then was a Division 1 soccer player at George Mason. She continues to be involved in athletics, coaching youth soccer in the Washington area.
Russini lives in Chevy Chase.
