A man suspected he was being two-timed—so he two-timed police.

Call it a crime of passion.

A Western Pennsylvania man has been charged with erroneously reporting a natural gas leak in his girlfriend's apartment. Police say 36-year-old Michael Sanner of Dawson, PA faked the emergency hoping the subsequent evacuation would ferret out another man hiding in his girlfriend's residence.

Sanner allegedly concocted the elaborate scheme with the intent to prove he was a major cuckold. Now the paranoid boyfriend could just be a minor felon. The Pittsburgh Review-Tribune reported Tuesday that Sanner was slapped with false alarms to a public safety agency and false identification charges after he called in the false report on Sunday.

According to Pittsburgh's WTAE, online court records do not list an attorney for Sanner. Bail is set at $10,000.
