Widow Says Heart-Shaped Potato Is Message From Dead Husband

Sally Colburn is trying to find a way to preserve the spud to constantly remind her of the love she shared with her husband

A widow in Florida is convinced her dead husband recently contacted her from beyond the grave.

Sally Colburn was frying up onions and potatoes when she reached into a 10-pound bag of potatoes and pulled out a heart-shaped spud that she claims is a message from her husband Jack who died from lung cancer in May, according to the New York Post.

"I know it was a sign from him," she told The Huffington Post. "I had been missing him. He died on May 13th and I've had that bag of potatoes for 2-and-a-half months. I reached in the bag and it was the very last one."

Jack and Sally Colburn had been married for nearly 50 years when he succumbed to lung cancer.

Colburn is absolutely positive the potato is a message from him.

"He was from Alabama," she told the  Huffington Post. "He was raised on potatoes."

Colburn is now trying to find a way to preserve the spud to constantly remind her of the love she shared with her husband, according to  the New York Post.

“He’s not as sentimental as I am,” she said to NFW Daily News. “But he would think it was pretty neat.”
