Real-Life Sharona Makes Sweet Music in Real Estate

The subject of the song "My Sharona" has a knack for real estate.
Sharona Alperin was 17 when her name became immortalized with the release of "My Sharona" by The Knack.
In an interview with WalletPop.com, Alperin talked about how she's been spending the 30 years since the song she inspired was released.
Apparently, she was too busy selling high-end real estate to notice how much time has passed. She's a real estate agent for Sotheby's.
"Is it really the 30th year anniversary of 'My Sharona' coming out?" Alperin asked WalletPop.
Knack singer Doug Fieger wrote the power pop song about his teen crush. It was released on the 1979 album "Get the Knack."
The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
"You could not escape putting on the radio and hearing that song," Alperin told WalletPop. "Or going to the market and hearing that song. At one point it almost turned into Muzak. But I was never, never sick of the song."
Alperin's Sotheby's bio page references the song.
"Sharona was only 17 when she was immortalized in the Knack's 1979 hit single My Sharona. Sharona tells that "My Sharona has had an impact on my ability to understand the entertainers mind, there's something simpatico. You've got to care to the n'th degree. You can't drop the ball for one minute." I sell "the most emotional product on the market, because a star's home is their only safe haven."
The easily recognized riff has survived in several forms. It was parodied as Weird Al Yankovic's "My Bologna." It also was used in a Taco Bell commercial that referred to "My Chalupa."
