After 6 Days, Man in Gorilla Suit Done Crawling the London Marathon

Tom Harrison has so far raised $28,500 to protect endangered gorillas in Africa

Tom Harrison, who began crawling the London Marathon dressed in a gorilla suit six days ago, finished the race Saturday, the BBC reported.

Harrison, dubbed Mr. Gorilla is raising money for the Gorilla Organization — so far more than 22,000 pounds ($28,500) have been pledged.

He finished the race Saturday, and his two sons were expected at the finish line to celebrate his feat.

He ran the marathon last year raising money for gorillas, but found crawling much more stressful.

"It's shoulders, hamstrings, glutes, quads, from the constant crouching," he says. "We're not really designed to do that."

Harrison said the money will be used to protect endangered gorillas in Africa.
