Vote for Endeavour's Wake Up Songs

Help NASA pick shuttle wake-up song

As NASA brings its shuttle program to a close, you can be a part of the history.

The space agency is inviting you to vote for your favorite original song to wake up the crew of Shuttle Endeavour.

Singers and songwriters from around the world submitted more than 1,300 original tunes. From those entries, NASA selected 10 finalists for public voting.

A southern Virginia man is among the 10 finalists. Tray Eppes, of Cullen, Va., submitted "Rocket Scientist."

Eppes wrote on the NASA voting site that he's been singing the blues since he was 12 years old. He said his friend Kelly, a scientist for NASA, inspired the song.

The rest of the finalists hail from the southern U.S., with one foreign entry: "Sunrise Number 1" by Stormy Mondays in Oviedo, Spain.

You can vote on your favorite here. The top two songs will be played as wake-up songs while Commander Mark Kelly and his five crewmates are on board the International Space Station. Voting runs through April 19.
