The Rio PMP300 was released in late 1998 with the ability to play about 12 MP3s on 32MBs of hard drive space. It was quickly overshadowed in 2001 by Apple's iPod, which is still considered the digital music player of choice to everyone but the most delusional of Zune supporters.
