Zorn Sends Haynesworth Home

Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn likely doesn’t have a future with the team, so he might as well play with owner Dan Snyder’s money now.

Zorn sent $41 million (guaranteed) offseason signing Albert Haynesworth home from practice Friday as a disciplinary measure, Redskins Insider reported.

"All that will be kept between Albert and I," Zorn said. "He wasn't belligerent or nasty to me, and I wasn't nasty to him. It's just something that needed to be done."

Haynesworth has been listed as probable for Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys despite a nagging ankle injury that’s kept him out of three games this season. Nor does it appear his boxing match with Brandon Jacobs Monday night will prevent him from playing. He was fined $10,000 for that.

Zorn said Friday’s spat won’t mean a benching.

Two players told Insider Haynesworth was late for a team meeting, and one player said coaches told him not to bother to practice, but he went out anyway. After a 15-minute chat with the coach, the defensive tackle walked off the field.
