All Clear After Wrigley Field Evacuated Due to Bomb Threat

All media and Wrigley Field staff were ordered to leave the stadium around 6 p.m.

Wrigley Field was evacuated for nearly an hour after Sunday's Chicago Cubs game due to a bomb threat, according to Cubs officials.

All media and Wrigley Field staff were ordered to leave the stadium around 6 p.m., according to Kelly Crull, a reporter for Comcast SportsNet.

The Cubs released a statement following the incident saying the evacuation was due to a bomb threat, but they found no evidence to suggest the threat was credible.

"Following our game this afternoon, we received a bomb threat and took swift action to clear the few remaining fans, players, staff and media from the ballpark," the statement reads. "After a thorough search by law enforcement, no evidence was found to suggest this threat was credible. We take safety at Wrigley Field seriously and are working with law enforcement to pursue the person who initiated this threat."

Chicago Police News Affairs told NBC Chicago they received a telephone threat and were investigating.

As of 6:50 p.m., all media and staff were allowed back into Wrigley Field, according to Crull.
