As the NBA Finals kick off, we take you through the week's best -- and weirdest -- sports miscellany. This week is all about Kobe's run with the Lakers, but before he got started Thursday night, a version of the new NBA 2K9 cover surfaced ... with Kobe in a Knicks jersey. Lakers fans were no doubt pleased. And in other Kobe-related media -- it's Kobe's world, after all -- Lil Wayne debuted his newest basketball tribute song: "Kobe Bryant." When it comes to basketball fandom, Lil Wayne seems to love everybody, doesn't he? After his successful NCAA tournament bracket, Obama weighed in with a Lakers-Magic prediction. His call? Lakers in 6. Hidden NBA Finals subplot: Can Lamar Odom finish an entire bowl of catering table gummy worms in five minutes? Jeff Van Gundy is calling the NBA Finals. His brother, Stan, is coaching the Orlando Magic. We wonder who Jeff is pulling for. With the new Superman, Dwight Howard, in the NBA Finals, Shaq refuses to give up on his attention-desperate Internet celebrity. It's sad, really. But he does look good in that wig. Tony La Russa, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with the Internet. La Russa is suing Twitter over a fake profile of the manager he found littered with insensitive tweets. Here's hoping the case goes all the way to the Supreme Court. Democratic congressman Steve Cohen has begun the anti-age-limit bandwagon. We don't know what he's on about. LeBron James and Dwight Howard have clearly struggled without their year in college. Melky Cabrera gets around: A YouTube video of the Yankees slugger hanging out in a hotel room with a porn star -- we're not making this up -- surfaced this week. Go for the porn star; stay for Melky's farmers tan. The argument that we Americans need more crazy tennis parents is not only wrong -- what about Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer? -- it's actually dangerous. Imagine an army of Richard Williams clones loosed on Wimbledon. Shudder. Tony Dungy's on fire this week: He called Jay Cutler's lack of a maturity "a risk" for the Bears, which would be fine had Dungy not already gone on record in support of "ignoring Michael Vick's past. Try to tease out that logic. We dare you. Sammy Sosa, who officially retired this week, had his fair share of late-career mishaps, but there are fond memories there, too. Speaking of perhaps-illegally obtained home runs, Brian Cashman thinks the Yankees's uptick in home runs might have something to do with juiced balls. Um, yeah. We'll let him explain. And since we're all about positivity here, let's end the week on a high note: Young autistic kids are having success dealing with their conditions thanks to, of all things, boxing. True story.
