O'Malley's Victory Tastes So Good

Another bet has been made

Gov. Martin O'Malley gets to feast this weekend on the Baltimore Ravens playoff win against the New England Patriots. On Saturday, O'Malley will show off the lobsters at Max's Taphouse in Fells Point.

The governor won the crustaceans in a "friendly wager" on the game. But it wasn't that friendly when Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick was slow to pay up. In fact, O'Malley posted a special message on YouTube demanding his payment.

O'Malley isn't done backing his Ravens. He made another "friendly wager" for Saturday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
This time the bet with Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels involves more than just food.

O'Malley’s offer to Daniels included some of Maryland’s best -- crab cakes and Maryland Smith Island cake.

On Thursday, Daniels stepped up to the challenge. His offer: an old-fashioned sugar cream pie from Wick’s Pies, Inc. in Winchester, Ind., and shrimp cocktail from St. Elmo’s Steak House.

Daniels didn’t stop there. To show he wasn’t "scared," he raised the stakes. Aside from forking over good delicacies, Daniels suggested the losing governor display the opposing team’s car flag on his official state vehicle for the following week.

Game on!
