Tennis Star Bernard Tomic Arrested in Miami Beach: Police

Professional tennis star Bernard Tomic was arrested in Miami Beach Wednesday after police say he refused to tone down a raucous party at a swanky South Beach hotel.

According to Miami Beach Police, officers were called to the W Hotel, located at 2201 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, after multiple reports of a loud penthouse party coming from Tomic's rooms.

Witnesses said Tomic closed the door on security officers and refused to turn down his music on three separate occasions.

According to the arrest report, Tomic pointed aggressively at security officers as he kept the party going.

Police arrived on scene and told Tomic he was being evicted and that if he did not pack his belongings and leave, he would be arrested for trespassing.

While Tomic's guests complied with police orders, the report said Tomic verbally and physically disobeyed police.

Tomic was arrested and charged with trespassing and resisting an officer without violence. He was eventually released on $2,000 bail. Jail records did not indicate attorney information.

The Australian tennis pro is currently ranked 25th in the world, according to the Association of Tennis Professionals.
