Despite, or because of, low attendance, the EagleBank Bowl is getting a better time slot in 2009.

WASHINGTON -- The second edition of the EagleBank Bowl will get a better time slot than the first.

Bowl organizers announced Thursday that the only bowl game played in the nation's capital will take place on Dec. 29 and kickoff at 4:30 p.m.

The TARP-linked game will match Army, if the Cadets are bowl-eligible, against an Atlantic Coast Conference team. If Army is not bowl-eligible, a team from Conference USA will be selected.

Last year's inaugural EagleBank Bowl kicked off at 11 a.m. on Dec. 20 -- the first bowl game of the season. Despite matching two teams from the region -- Navy and Wake Forest -- the game drew only 28,777 fans to RFK Stadium.
