Redskins Look to Get Offensive

Question marks surround the teams ability to score points

OTAs are over but the goal remains the same: get Jason Campbell to lead the team to victory ... for the sake of him keeping his pockets straight in a contract year and for the sake of Skins fans with pitchforks readily at their sides, prepared to riot against someone or something, even if it means turning the spikes on themselves.

With the Redskins defense primed for a top-notch year (two defensemen made ESPN's 'Ultimate Building Blocks' for the NFC East), the offense will obviously be under the most scrutiny.

"Last year even the coaches didn't know the offense. I was the only one who could go, 'No! That's not right!'" said Jim Zorn on the last day of OTAs via Redskins Insider. Wow, that doesn't sound good.

Talking down about the '08 offense that ranked 19th in the league (ahead of the 22nd ranked world champs) in such a manner only builds great expectations for '09 (as if Skins faithful didn't have high expectations in the first place).

Still, despite Campbell absorbing "as much as half of the team's offense" by the conclusion of OTAs and a wanna-be resurgent receiving corps (now minus James Thrash), one can't help but remain skeptical if the team can come together as a unit.

A shoddy offensive line, a quarterback the front office tried to usurp a handful of times in the offseason ... Zorn has his work cut out for him. He's only a Danny Snyder daydream about Bill Cowher from being on the streets.
