Obama May Attend 1st Wizards Game

White House

Barack Obama is all smiles while hanging with the Chicago Bulls. Wizards fans, however, have yet to smile all season.

After meeting his hometown team Thursday at the White House, President Barack Obama may head to the Verizon Center Friday night to see his Chicago Bulls take on the Wizards.

It would be Obama's first time watching a Wizards game in person as president.

In preparation, Wizards employees were told to expect heavy security at Friday night's game, and customers who use the arena's underground parking lot were notified that vehicles would be subject to searches and delays are possible, according to the Washington Times.

The Wizards have only won 13 games all season without star Gilbert Arenas, so there probably hasn't been a pressing need for Obama to head to the Phone Booth to watch the team. But the Bulls probably give him some extra incentive.

"If he wants to draw up a play, I'll certainly take it," Wizards head coach Ed Tapscott told the Times. "I know he's a Bulls fan, but I figure he has to be professionally neutral. He is a resident of Washington, D.C., now."

On Thursday, Obama met members of the Bulls in the White House Blue Room and posed for pictures. The team gave him a personalized No. 44 jersey.
