Mr. Redskin Runs a 4.43 40 at Age 50

Darrell Green tweets he celebrated his birthday with a fast 40-yard dash

Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder has a curious tendency to sign aging former star players past their prime. Might it be a safer bet to call an even older former star out of retirement?

If Darrell Green's an honest tweeter, the Hall of Fame cornerback may still be able to run with the fastest players in the NFL. He turned 50 Monday and celebrated that milestone by running a 4.43 40-yard dash in Orlando, NBCSports reports.

Green spent his entire 20-year career with the Redskins. He won the NFL's Fastest Man competition four times. In 1991, he was called the world's fastest athlete.

According to his Web site, he could still run a 4.2 40 at age 40.
