Larranaga Gets Permission to Talk to Miami

George Mason University gave basketball coach Jim Larranaga permission to talk to the University of Miami about its head coaching job.

The Hurricanes are looking for a replacement for Frank Haith, who took a coaching job at Missouri several weeks ago.

Larranaga has spent 14 years at George Mason and took the Patriots on a surprising run to the Final Four in 2006. He is the school and the Colonial Athletic Association's all-time wins leader.

He led Mason to a 26-6 record this year, including 16 straight wins. They lost to Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
