The half-brother of Redskins' lineman Albert Haynesworth died in a motorcycle accident Thursday night in Nashville, Tenn., according to WSMV-TV.

The Nashville station reported that Lance McCoy, 22, was driving outbound on North Gallatin Pike Thursday night when he crashed head-on with another car, according to police.

The driver of the car was attempting to make a left hand turn out of a nearby Car Max lot, the station reported.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle was going about 100 mph. Police said witnesses may be right because when they crashed the motorcycle caused the car to make a 180-degree turn.

McCoy was rushed to Vanderbilt Hospital, where medics pronounced him dead. The car driver was complaining of pain but was expected to be fine.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said that Haynesworth flew to Tennessee.  He did not know if Haynesworth would play on Sunday.

"I would never ask somebody if they're going to play ... after a tragedy," Shanahan said, according to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan.
