ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The 112th Army-Navy football game will be played at FedEx Field on Dec. 10, 2011.

"This is a phenomenal achievement by the three organizations to secure such an historic event for our nation's capital," said Robert Sweeney, president of the Greater Washington Sports Alliance. "With nearly a half million active and retired military personnel currently living in our region and the historic memorials that honor our nation's service men and women, it just makes sense to have a game of this magnitude played in Washington, D.C."

The Naval Academy announced Tuesday that the annual duel between the two service academies will be held at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

The teams will play at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium in 2014 and 2016.

"I am so proud that two Maryland stadiums have now been selected to host three Army-Navy games between 2010 and 2017, and I personally look forward to witnessing these great match-ups," U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., said.

The Army-Navy game has been played 109 times. Philadelphia has been the host on 81 occasions.
