Just because you have five NBA Championship rings doesn’t mean you’re exempt from paying the bill.

Former NBA and Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman was temporarily detained in Germany after a hotel said he skipped out on a $5,100 hotel bill.

Senior prosecutor Juergen Bauer said Rodman had played in a USA Legends of Basketball exhibition game on Sunday and threw a party afterward at his hotel in the western town of Trier.

Bauer says the game's organizers had agreed to pick up the tab for Rodman's overnight hotel stay, but not an additional $5,100 for beverages consumed at the party.

On Monday, the hotel owner noticed Rodman had left without paying the bill and contacted the police, which stopped Rodman’s stretch limo on the highway and detained him.

To make things right, Rodman ended up paying the bill and an additional $2,500, just to make sure there would be no possible legal proceedings.
