Caps Find Another Way to Keep Pens Fans Out

See that guy in the white shirt in the stands? Here's hoping he won't be there the next time the Pens come to town.

The Caps continue to make sure Pittsburgh Penguins fans don't show up for games at the Verizon Center. After banning playoff ticket sales to people with Pittsburgh area codes, the Caps might have found their best weapon yet -- Super Bowl Sunday.

The 2009-10 regular season schedule was released Wednesday, and the Pens will play in D.C. Feb. 7, 2010. So if the Steelers make a return trip to the NFL championship game, many Pens fans will stay home.

That's good news for Caps fans, who won't have to be bothered with a flood of Terrible Towels waved by yinzers, but what if the Redskins make it? Oh, let's just worry about that at a later date. Like Feb. 6.

The Caps also host the Pens on March 24, so D.C.-based Pittsburgh fans will have another chance to see the team that beat the Caps in the 2009 postseason.

Check out the hastily pasted full schedule below, and remember that this is an Olympic season, so there will be a two-week break from Feb. 14-March 2.
