Four preseason games remain

There are now 42 players on the Washington Capitals' roster.

With Hershey's camp set to open tomorrow, the team cut 15 players, including 2008 first-rounder Anton Gustafsson after just one preseason appearance, Capitals Insider Tarik El-Bashir reported.

The rest of the cuts include: defensemen Zach Miscovic, Patrick Wellar, Dylan Yeo, Josh Godfrey and Vladimir Denisov, forwards Boyd Kane, Michael Dubuc, Joel Broda, Joe Finley, Anton Gustafsson, Trevor Bruess, Jake Hauswirth and Ryan Jasinsky and goaltenders Todd Ford and Braden Holtby.

Kane, Gustafsson, Finley, Dubuc, Wellar, and Godfrey have been assigned to Hershey.

Meanwhile, the Caps have four preseason games remaining, all in the span of the next seven days, according to Dump 'n Chase's Mike Vogel.

In Saturday's match, Washington topped the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2, with Kyle Wilson and Chris Clark each scoring a goal and an assist in exhibition play.
