Arenas Vows to Put Up, Shut Up

Wizards' guard: "I'm not the entertainer anymore"

WASHINGTON -- Gilbert Arenas is not going to be the entertainer anymore, he said Monday.

The Washington Wizards point guard is going to focus on basketball instead of writing as he attempts to return after three surgeries on his left knee, he said.

Arenas once had one of the most entertaining blogs on the Internet. But now he says: "I just want to go out there and play."

Arenas and the Wizards open training camp Tuesday in Richmond, Va. The three-time All-Star has played in only 15 games over the past two seasons.

It will take a while to jell with a veteran team led by new coach Flip Saunders, Arenas said.

Asked about playoff prospects, he said: "We don't know what we have yet. We have a whole new coach, a whole new system, a whole new philosophy."
