The Eleanor Holmes Norton Report: A Challenge to Colbert

A Challenge to Constituents... to Challenge the Satirical Host

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) and political satirist Stephen Colbert have a complicated history. They've frequently (jokingly) sparred over D.C. not having full voting rights on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."

Now Norton wants her constituents to jump in the ring and help her out. She’s asking supporters to post on her Facebook page why they think D.C. should gain full voting rights in Congress.

But not just any post -- Norton wants supporters to write “with as much wit as Colbert uses to make fun of us for not having our full rights.” Cue the subtle snark... now.

"The buzz surrounding the Colbert and Jon Stewart rallies... is too great an opportunity to miss to pay back Colbert and to remind those who come that, unlike Colbert, D.C. has a cause worthy of a rally," said Norton.

Colbert and his fellow Comedy Central host Jon Stewart will hosting dual rallies Oct. 30 on the National Mall
