A new poll showed Gov. Martin O'Malley leading former Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich in a rematch by 9 percentage points.

The poll released Wednesday by Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies found O'Malley, a Democrat, had 46 percent of support compared to 39 percent for Ehrlich, with 13 percent undecided. Ehrlich has not said whether he plans to run again.

However, the poll also says 46 percent of Maryland voters say they approve of the job O'Malley is doing. The survey found 36 percent disapprove and 18 percent offered no opinion.

The survey was conducted between Jan. 13 and 17 with 816 registered voters who are likely to vote. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
