In the race for Virginia’s Senate seat, Democrat Tim Kaine appears to hold an early lead – at least in the fundraising department. Republican George Allen raised just half of what Kaine did during the past three months, according to Politico.
That doesn’t seem to concern Allen’s campaign. His team said it expected Kaine to raise more money at first. It also said most of the money he raised came from contributors nationwide; Allen, his spokespeople claim, raised most of his money from Virginians. That could translate more easily into votes.
Allen is trying to win back the Senate seat he lost six years ago to Jim Webb.
