The chief of staff to the chairman of the D.C. Council has resigned.

Kwame Brown on Friday announced the departure of Nicole Streeter from his office. He said in a statement that Streeter was an important part of his transition from at-large Council member to
chairman, and expressed gratitude for her service.

Brown said legislative director Megan Vahey will serve as acting chief of staff.
