Health Care Bill Challenged In Virginia Appeals Court

The battle over President Barack Obama's health care bill is headed to a federal appeals court in Virginia.

The health care bill requires that virtually all Americans buy health insurance or pay a tax penalty.

On Tuesday, a three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond will hear arguments in the back-and-forth challenge.

Two lawsuits were filed in Virginia urging the court to strike down the measure as unconstitutional.

Those lawsuits are among 31 that have been filed across the country.
