A funeral for R. Sargent Shriver will be held at a church in suburban Washington this weekend.
A wake open to the public will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown.
A private funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy in Potomac, Md., on Saturday. Cardinal Donald Wuerl of the Archdiocese of Washington will celebrate the Mass.
Shriver, who served as the director of the Peace Corps and leader of the war on poverty, died Tuesday after being hospitalized for several days in his native Maryland. He was 95 and had suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
