Tim Kaine Portrayed as Cheerleader

You've never seen Tim Kaine like this: swinging pom-poms in a sleeveless cheerleader's outfit.

In a bizarre preemptive strike against a Democrat who has yet to declare his candidacy for Virginia's senate seat, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has put together a South-Park inspired smear video against Tim Kaine.

In the video, the former governor and current chairman of the Democratic National Committee had his head superimposed on the body of a cheerleader.  Slogans pop up on the screen that say "Tim Kaine's So in Love With Spending," and "Cheering from the left."

Kaine's name has been circulated as the leading candidate to run for the Virginia Senate seat next year, which is being vacated by current Democrat Jim Webb.  Kaine has called a run for Senate "a challenge," and publicly remains undecided, the Hill reported.

Former Senator George Allen, Tea Party activist Jamie Radtke, and a lawyer, David McCormick, have all declared their intentions to run on the Republican line.

When asked for a response to the video, Virginia Democratic Party spokesman Brian Coy gave Politico the following statement:

This ad makes two things clear. One, Republicans aren’t funny. They just aren’t. Two, they’re aware of just how weak their prospects are in 2012. Making lame videos about a man who hasn’t even declared to run might make them feel better, but it won’t change the fact that they’re facing a divisive primary and their favored candidate George Allen has already lost this seat after spending six mediocre years in the Senate running for president and complaining about how bored he was.
