Fairfax Moves Forward With Crackdown on Campaign Signs

Legislation to limit campaign signs in Fairfax Co.

Campaign signs may soon no longer litter the streets of Fairfax County before an election.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted to support legislation that lets authorities remove advertisements illegally posted along VDOT right-of-ways.

Last month, many of the 99 candidates on the ballot in Fairfax County blanketed roadsides with their signs.

Right now, a Virginia code allows authorities to take up signs in every other part of the state BUT Fairfax. If approved, that Virginia code would not exempt Fairfax County.
