D.C. Voting Rights Rally Heads to Hill

Supporters of D.C. voting rights plan to rally on Capitol Hill again Friday. Among those participating will be Mayor Vincent Gray.

Gray and several council members were arrested during a similar protest on Monday.

Home rule advocates are upset about the budget passed by Congress on Thursday. The measure prohibits the District from using locally generated money for abortion services and imposes a controversial school voucher program.

District leaders have called on residents to take to the streets and demand full representation.

Protesters will gather at 10:30 a.m. at the Stewart R. Mott House on Maryland Ave, NE, and then march on the Hill.
